Homewood Science Center invites your family to join us virtually for Spotlight On…The Northern Cardinal and Audubon Christmas Bird Count on Thursday December 10 at 7pm.
Meet Sherry Williams, founder of the first “Afrobirding” group on Chicago’s south side and the President of
Bronzeville Historical Society at Illinois Institute of Technology. Sherry will share her love of birding as she highlights our Bird of the Month, The Northern Cardinal.
Sherry will also highlight the Audubon Christmas Bird Count, the nation’s longest-running community science bird project. Curious about what the Christmas Bird Count data show? We’ll show you how to use Audubon’s tool to explore population trends over the last few decades.
Educators: We will offer an EXTRA CREDIT CODE at the end of our presentation. This is a great opportunity to get students involved in science outside of the classroom!
