Visitors to the Maxwell Street Market will experience an eclectic mix of foods and finds—including handmade crafts, resale housewares, clothing, and much more. Restaurants to enjoy include several “Maxwell Street originals” with longstanding ties to the neighborhood; highlights include:

Getting There: Halsted and Roosevelt Rd. are historically the gateway to the Maxwell Street Market on Maxwell Street, but now the Market can also be accessed from Union Avenue at Roosevelt Rd., for pedestrians. CTA Bus #8 on Halsted Street stops at Maxwell St.; CTA Bus #12 stops on Roosevelt Rd. near both Union and Halsted; and the CTA Blue Line stops at the UIC-Halsted station on Halsted north of Roosevelt Rd.
The Market happens once a month on select Sundays from May through October.
